Born and brought up in Casablanca, Nawarra started dancing at the age of five. "I used to dance in parties and special events and
always was a center of attention."
Music and Dance is always present in the culture of the Arab World from birth to death and every stage of life. It has been seen in the
west as 'only' an Egyptian Art Form, but in reality it is a melange of moves and styles garnered from the many diverse cultures
which make up the region of Arabia.
Nawarra moved to England in 1996 and she started dancing with Arabic Dance Group in Leeds and in 2004 she decided to form her own Arabian
Dance Group in Leeds, Banat Eshorouk, a group that represents different cultures from East to West. She now travels all over the country
teaching and performing and has successfully started organising trips to Marrakech for dancers.
