Raheesha is the director of the Majma Dance Festival and leader of the Desert Divas and is one of only two teachers from England to take part in Farida Fahmy's and Mahmoud Reda's Teachers and Professional Dance seminar held in Cairo.

American born Raheesha is renowned for introducing new styles and setting trends within the dance world with such innovations as Flamenco Arabe, Belly Samba and for 2009 she will be introducing a whole new, exciting style (see the Programme page after 1st August for details).

As well as teaching in Somerset, Raheesha has travelled and won international prizes and accolades including dancing at the newly-opened Aladdin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and at the Atlantis Casino in Reno Nevada, winning first prize in the UK Eastern Promise dance competition in February 2002 and studying with Farida Fahmy and Mahmoud Reda in Cairo.

After taking over Majma Dance Festival for the 2008 event Raheesha and the Desert Divas have worked trielessly to improve the experience and organisation for visitors to the festival, which has grown in size and popularity, with classes selling out well in advance of the opening date.
